“Dr. Linda Mitchell is a professor at Mississippi State University with a Ph.D. in technology.

With a dissertation topic related to the benefits and power of humor, she says she laughed her way through school.

She currently serves as the Head of the Center for 4-H Youth Development and Regional Extension Coordinator for Northeast Mississippi.

Prior to becoming part of the MSU faculty she taught in the public school system. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from Spalding University and works to incorporate the arts into the lives of students and 4-H’ers.

Dr. Mitchell has enjoyed serving on The Congressional Award Board of Directors since 2000 and recognizes the power of this program to impact the lives of our youth.”
