Francesca is originally from Maryland and moved around a bit as a kid living in El Salvador and Uruguay. She graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Spanish. She is a big fan of summer weather and reading on the beach.

Why I Joined the Congressional Award

Committing to voluntary public service, personal development, physical activity, and exploration in AmeriCorps NCCC was the most influential experience of my professional career. Organizations like AmeriCorps and the Congressional Award encourage young people to get involved in their communities and learn about how to make a difference. Opening doors for young people helps them make a positive impact and introduces them to new people and possibilities. I love that this is what the Congressional Award promotes.
