Bill Anaya

Bill Anaya is the vice president of Global Government Affairs for Coupang, a leading technology and Fortune 200 company listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: CPNG) that provides retail, restaurant delivery, video streaming, and fintech services to customers around the world under brands that include Coupang, Coupang Eats, Coupang Play and Farfetch. Bill is responsible for the team which engages with government leaders and decision-makers on matters at the intersection of policy, business, and innovation.

Prior to Coupang, Bill served as the head of International Government Relations for the Americas at Alibaba Group. Previously, Bill counseled a broad range of industry category leading corporate clients at the international law firm of Alston & Bird. Bill was the founder and leader of the firm’s political law and compliance practice. Before joining Alston & Bird, Bill served as vice president of global government affairs with Motorola. where he led lobbying, public policy, political compliance and business development initiatives. He served as a cleared advisor to a member of the President of the United States’ National Security and Telecommunications Advisory Committee. Bill was a technology policy advisor to Congressman John Dingell, the former Chairman of the influential U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy & Commerce.

Early in his career, Bill served with Ford Motor Company in the automaker’s government affairs and general counsel’s offices and in the office of the Chief of Staff to the President in the White House. Bill has served as Chairman of the National Association of Manufacturers Technology Policy Committee and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Telecommunications Industry Association. Bill serves on the Executive Advisory Board at Notre Dame Law School, as a member of the Advisory Council of the Notre Dame Law School Exoneration Justice Clinic, as a member of the Ford’s Theatre Board of Governors, and as an Executive Fellow Leadership Advisor with the Economic Club of Washington. Bill is a member of the Bar of the State of Michigan, District of Columbia, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and earned his juris doctorate degree from Notre Dame Law School. He and his wife, Erica, reside in Alexandria Virginia. They have two children, a daughter in the School of Nursing at the University of Virginia and a son with a hedge fund in New York.
