Social Media Ambassador
Our social media outlets allow us to keep a mass audience informed of the latest Congressional Award news, updates, and opportunities with quickness and ease. We are continuing to enhance the quality and frequency of our social media experience and could use your assistance in the following ways:

Create awareness of the program and build a stronger base of followers by sharing the information posted from our account to your followers. Examples include retweeting tweets, sharing a link to a Tumblr feature, sharing a Facebook post, or encouraging others to visit the Congressional Award pages and connecting with us.
Help generate content for social media posts. By monitoring your local news, informing us of local opportunities for participants, submitting photos, and sharing success stories of local Congressional Award happenings, you are helping us highlight newsworthy stories that we may have otherwise missed.
Submit an Alumni Narrative
We need your words and energy to inspire others to learn more about Congress’ award for youth. We want to hear success stories from your experience in earning the award, accomplishments you have achieved because of the program, and expressions of the tangible and intangibles benefits of participating in the Congressional Award.
If interested, we would like to feature your story and thoughts in our marketing materials, social media postings, and opinion blogs. By providing a brief summary of what you did and how it has impacted your life, you may inspire others to do the same!
Make a Contribution to the Foundation
Enable youth to take the Congressional Award challenge by supporting the program monetarily. There are many ways for individuals, groups, organizations, and companies to show their support by providing a financial contribution.
The Congressional Award is exempt from federal income tax under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. You can make a tax deductible gift and learn more about the ways to donate here.
Volunteer at National Events
If you are local to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area or happen to be in close proximity during a Congressional Award event, we welcome your volunteerism. On-site volunteers are often needed at events like the annual Gold Medal Ceremony and fundraising events like the annual Golf Classic and Chiefs of Staff Poker Tournament.
Serve as an Advisor/Mentor
If you already know of youth in your area of residence that would be a good fit for the program, you could serve as an advisor/mentor. Having someone that has already experienced the program available to shepherd the participant along and answer any questions can be invaluable to a young person’s success.
Special Skills/Talents
Do you have any skill sets or special talents that you can share with us? The National Office is always looking for assistance with: public speaking, website development, application development, translation services, etc.
Intern at the National Office
We accept applications for internships at the National Office in Washington, D.C. on a rolling basis. There are three primary internship cycles: Fall, Spring, and Summer. Learn more about the opportunity here.
