A Valentine’s Day to Remember: The Congressional Award and Wish of a Lifetime from AARP Spread Love to Seniors Nationwide through Cupid Crew Campaign

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington, D.C. – This Valentine’s Day, The Congressional Award and Wish of a Lifetime from AARP have once again united for the 12th annual Cupid Crew campaign, a heartfelt initiative bringing together thousands of young volunteers to deliver messages of love and kindness to older adults nationwide.

Every year, Cupid Crew mobilizes schools, youth organizations, and community volunteers to combat loneliness among seniors through simple yet powerful acts of kindness—Valentine’s Day cards filled with warm, uplifting messages. Through this partnership, tens of thousands of cards have been sent to senior homes across the country, reminding older adults that they are valued and cherished.

“This campaign is about more than just Valentine’s Day—it’s about fostering meaningful intergenerational connections and ensuring that no senior feels forgotten,” said Erica Heyse, National Director of The Congressional Award. “We are incredibly proud of the thousands of Congressional Award youth participants who have embraced this mission, demonstrating the power of small gestures to create a big impact.”

With a growing number of seniors facing isolation, Cupid Crew provides an opportunity for young people to make a difference, whether by writing cards, volunteering at senior communities, or simply reaching out to brighten someone’s day.
