Why I Joined the Congressional Award

Committing to voluntary public service, physical activity, personal development and exploration in AmeriCorps NCCC was the most influential experience of my professional career. Organizations like AmeriCorps and the Congressional Award encourage young people to get involved in their communities and learn about how to make a difference. Opening doors for young people helps them make a positive impact, navigate the world, and introduces them to new people and possibilities. I love that this is what the Congressional Award promotes.
