Marc Baer

Marc has spent over eighteen years working in the healthcare industry.

He currently serves as Vice President, Health Services, at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota.

During his tenure at Blue Cross, Marc has led several different functions focused on delivering capabilities and solutions for its members, including pharmacy and health and wellness programs and products.

Prior to joining Blue Cross, Marc held leadership roles in the health care division of Target Corporation, where he led its pharmacy network as well as its clinic and optical businesses. He also spent eight years at UnitedHealth Group working in a variety of areas including strategic partnerships, network and product administration, and corporate development. Marc grew up in northern Minnesota and began his career working as an attorney in a small town near Minneapolis.

Marc has a strong commitment to community service and programs for youth. He has led the local chamber of commerce, served on several city and county citizen boards and commissions, was a member of the law-related education board (governing the high school mock trial program in Minnesota), and spent several years as an assistant martial arts instructor for local youth through community education.

Marc received a law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School and a bachelor’s degree from St. Olaf College. He is a proud recipient of The Congressional Award Gold Medal.
